SHRM: John Wilson addresses how to improve common candidate frustrations
April 19, 2024A bad recruiting experience builds candidate resentment, which negatively impacts a business and its brand. That's according to WilsonHCG’s CEO John Wilson.
In an interview with SHRM, Wilson said that over the last couple of years, employers have begun behaving like the labor market has shifted in their favor and away from the candidates’ market seen during the pandemic.
“Unfortunately, companies forget that the candidate experience should be treated like a consumer experience,” he said. “If employers thought of it like that, candidate satisfaction would go up tremendously.”
He also emphasized the importance of authenticity, sharing video testimonials and leveraging conversational AI to keep candidates informed during each step of the hiring process.
