Decision Marketing: Demand for AI expertise outpaces supply

Despite talent shortages across STEM remits, demand for AI expertise has remained strong in the UK, according to Craig Sweeney, EVP of global strategic talent solutions.

He made the comment when speaking to reporters from Decision Marketing about the latest data from WilsonHCG’s talent intelligence and labor market analytics platform.

Sweeney said: “If employers are seeking professionals with a clear track record of working in AI, they will really struggle, as talent pools of any real scale simply don’t exist yet.”

Instead, companies need to start upskilling their employees and sourcing candidates with an understanding of emerging technologies, he explained.
